DVR-Studio HD is intended to process video recordings taken from various types of sources, such as HDTV, DVB PC-cards and AVCHD cameras. The tool has a nice tabbed interface, which is in many respects similar to a wizard, particularly if you follow the order of the tabs.
It is good that your work can be saved as a project so you do not need to start from scratch if you cannot do the whole thing in a single work session. As with many other video editors and disc creators, you should start by importing the desired files. Then, it is possible to delete the undesired parts by using the Cut tool. Next, you can insert meta-data that can help you identify the selected programs or films. For instance, if it is a TV series, you can enter the episode and season, publication date and the suggested rank. Additionally, it is allowed to provide its genre as well as cast and crew members. Luckily, the tool can also connect to various EPG data sources and download the required information automatically.
The next step is creating a disc menu. In this regard, the program allows creating menu entries, using customized backgrounds and inserting various types of push buttons. Likewise, you can insert thumbnails with a particular frame of a given video. Finally, you are ready to export your work in various ways. In this respect, you can create an HD disc or an SD DVD. Likewise, it is possible to export it to various formats, such as M2TS and TS. Luckily, it also allows converting to MPEG, which is a universal format that you can play on many devices. more
